Creating a high-end welcome entrance.
Anandamaya Residences, located on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman in South Jakarta, stands as a beacon of luxury living. Known for its prime positioning in Jakarta’s central business district, this prestigious condominium complex offers easy access to the city’s major offices, shopping centers, and international schools. A key feature of the building’s design is the entranceway. However, the initial proposed design brought with it construction challenges that necessitated an alternative approach.
Navigating the challenge of weight and budget.
Initially, the entrance design called for a decorative feature made of wrought iron. While this material aligned with
the desired luxurious appearance, the high costs and the impracticality of using such a heavy material in this context presented significant issues. Wrought iron’s weight made installation difficult and costly, while ongoing maintenance to prevent rust further added to the concerns. The project team needed an alternative that could maintain the high- end visual appeal while overcoming these logistical and financial constraints.
A light solution to replicate iron.
Known for its versatility and ability to mimic various materials, Conwood became the ideal choice for this project. Its lightweight properties made it easier and safer to handle for the workers involved. Unlike wrought iron, which can be prone to rust, Conwood offers long-term durability with minimal maintenance, ensuring the feature remains in pristine condition over time.
The flexibility of Conwood allowed the designers to replicate the appearance of wrought iron while significantly reducing weight and the associated installation challenges. This meant that not only could the architects achieve their design vision, but the project could also proceed more efficiently, saving both time and costs. The final result was a stunning decorative entrance that maintained the luxurious standards of Anandamaya without the heavy maintenance demands.
Since its installation in 2018, the Conwood feature has continued to deliver on its promise of enduring aesthetic excellence and durability. As residents and visitors pass through the entrance, they are greeted by a structure that not only enhances the beauty of the building but also stands as a testament to smart, modern building solutions. Conwood provided a solution that ensured the entrance to one of Jakarta’s most prestigious residences remained both beautiful and functional, year after year.
